The other day I went to start my truck and it was idling at 1200rpm. The next day it was idling too low and dying. Since then it has been going up and down throughout the day. I checked the linkage. The ball and sockets are good, nothing wore out, nothing in a bind in the linkage. No bind in throttle cable. The only bind was in what I guess to be the governor arm. I'm a little new to messing with this stuff so bear with me. It seems to be hard to push the governor arm back and forth. Is ther something in there that can wear out. I don't fully understand exactly how it works. any ideas? Does the governor just control the maximum amount of fuel so it doesn't get too high rpm or is there more to it? I'm starting to think as this problem gets worse and worse maybe its causing my other problems, possibly somehow defueling at the wrong time. refer to my other thread taking spells of running rough. I don't know maybe I'm off base here i'm getting a little frustrated and confused trying to figure this one out.
