Attention: TDR Forum Junkies My 06 just started showing some troubling/erratic idling behavior. The engine seems to be throttling when it shouldn't be...it is a bit weird to describe.
- When in park, some of the time the engine is revving on its own.
- When stopped, but still in gear, the engine similarly revs much of the time, and the brake pedal intermittently "pushes back"(I would almost describe it as bucking). Some of the time, I need to apply virtually all the force I can, to keep the brake pedal depressed (while the engine revs on its own).
- When stopped, but still in gear, and I release my foot off the accelerator (in either reverse or forward gear), the vehicle starts to take off faster than usual (for one second or so), then eases back to "normal."
- After stopping (and pulling into a parking spot), when I move the gear shifter from drive to park, the engine abruptly revs/surges for the brief moment while the shifter passes through neutral. (Just to satisfy my curiosity, once I tried leaving it in neutral for a few seconds, and it continued to rev/surge while it was in neutral)
What might be the issue(s)?
