Erratic Turn Signals?

My truck, only once in a great while, blinkers act up. I can be waiting to turn, turning a corner or changing lanes, it doesn't seem to matter. The blinkers come on, they blink a few times in the direction i press, then i cant hear them blinking, then it will go from left to right blinker or vice versa without me even shutting off my turn signal.. once the turn signal is off i have no issues, only sometimes when i turn the turn signal on do i get this issue. Any ideas?

Last week, mine started acting up. I took the multi-function switch out and took it apart. Found the contacts were all dirty. I wiped the crud off and put some grease on them and put it back together. Works perfect again. Took about a half hour. Maybe yours are dirty.

There is a recall on the 06's for this. I wonder if it's been extended. Mine do the same thing. Haven't taken it in yet.
