2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission error code 0500

What type of error code is it and what can I do to fix it. I getting tired of taking the battery cables off.

Offcially its the code for the vehicle speed sensor. Rear differential. However its possible to set the code when spinning the tires rapidly, or sometimes high idlers will set it when used.

I don't have a high Idler. But this code seems to happen when I apply the brakes (hard, seems to have some wheel hop).



Do you think the sensor needs cleaning or replacing?

If you don't have a high idler, and don't spin the rear tires too much then yes its quite possible your actual sensor is bad? Not sure how much they run, I never worry about it I spin the rears too much to care.
