WHERE CAN I FIND WHAT THESE ERROR CODES MEAN? I RUN A POWER PUCK. UP UNTIL NOW IT RAN OK. YESTERDAY MY THROTTLE SEEMED TO GO DEAD - WE WERE TRAVELING AT 70MPH AND THE ENGINE WOULD GO DOWN TO IDLE - IT DID NOT DIE, JUST IDLE. THEN A FEW SECONDS LATER IT WOULD PICK BACK UP. I STOPPED AND CHECKED ALL CONNECTIONS ON THE PUCK - WENT DOWN THE ROAD AGAIN AND IT GOT WORSE - REMOVED THE PUCK - PROBLEM SOLVED, BUT ERROR CODES REMAIN. I AM SENDING MY PUCK BACK TO DIABLO FOR EVALUATION, BUT I STILL WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THESE CODES MEAN - WHERE CAN I FIND THIS INFO?!?!?!?

Check this site out for your codes. http://www.batauto.com/chrysler/99-01trk.html

0216: Fuel injection pump timing failure. ----First thing check your fuel filter. The injection pump uses fuel pressure to advance the timing. I had this happen to me once. You could starve the pump enough to have the engine quit or only idle.

0234: Turbo boost limit exceeded. I don't know about the Puck set up. Does it have a boost module built in? If you disconnected it and then ran it you could haveshown the computer an overboost.

I hope this helps TGB

I just looked at your profile. I notice that you have a fuel pressure gauge. When mine did it and kicked out a 0216 I had my gauge connected to the filter inlet not at the injection pump. I had great fuel pressure. When I moved it to the injection pump I showed good pressure too, until I went for a ride. When I jumped on it the pressure would drop and take a long time to come back. At first I thought it was the lift pump, AGAIN. But I had great pressure on one side of the filter and no flow through it. Duh I have a plugged filter thanks to some algea.

CODES - THANKS TGBOL

Thanks for the info. My fuel pressure sending unit is on the vp44 side of the filter. With the puck installed, on cold mornings(32F is cold here) I can easily pull a 0 or less PSI on the fuel pressure - changing the filter shows an improvment for about 5 miles. I have changed the filter 3 times n 3 different sources of fuel and had the same results. WITHOUT THE PUCK, I have a hard time getting the pressure to go below 4 psi, even when it is cold. This shows me that the lift pump may be weak, but is still within factory requirements. Could the negitive pressure give me the 0216 error? What is the best way to clear the error?

Also, I have the waste-gate disconnected. I do not achieve more than 26 psi boost with the Puck installed. In the past, this has not turned on any errors that I know of. Do you think that this has caused 0234? What pressure does this error appeat at? By the way the Puck installs on the MAP sensor and the data port.

Do you, or anyone ready this, have a suggestion for a additional lift pump?

Thanks Again

Did you have the 0234 code before you disconnected the puck? You might have turned on the check engine light with the 0216, and while you were checking it out by disconnecting the puck caused the 0234 because the wastegate is not working.

The Cummins book states that the 0216 is caused by low internal fuel pressure not allowing the pump to advance. In my case it was caused by a plugged filter. A negative pressure could mean not enough fuel in the injector pump to advance the timing. It could also mean a bad injector pump.

I have an EZ on my truck. I also have the latest lift pump. Pressure doesn't drop below 10 psi.

When you say the latest lift pump, do you mean a new one from a dealer? Did they improve them?

You are probably correct on the high boost pressure. I still have the WG disconnected and do not have the Puck installed. I am only able to produce 22 psi, but maybe that is enough to set the error. However, the error message was there before I removed the puck and I did nothing to cause it. It sounds like the Puck may have malfuntioned allow the actual boost psi to make it to the ECM, then cause the throttle to malfunction. The problem with this theory is that the throttle malfunctioned under about 10 psi of boost and did not seem to be related to the boost pressure. Of course, a malfuctioning computer can do anything as far as us normal guys can tell.

Keep in mind, the truck is running without problems without the puck. Do you think the 22 psi boost and the error will cause more problems?

Thanks again
