Any thoughts on the HTT Super 40

My mind is always thinking of new and better ways of heating my engine at temps that can hit -50f and colder.

With an Espar I can heat the coolant with out external power but the oil in the pan is stone cold. Only one half of the problem is solved. I was just thinking if you could run a pre-oiler constantly when the Espar is making heat. Does the pre-oiler flow thur the oil cooler? If it does then perhaps it could be done.

I know the stock set of batts won't be able to cope with this power draw & start the engine. I already have a second set of dual batts installed.

Ideas and thoughts appreciated. I don't know anything about pre-oilers other than what their purpose is.

Tyler,

That heater has an exhaust, why don't you just run it down and have it end right next to the oil pan. It won't be a lot but it will help.

Are you back in town yet? If so, Do you want to get rid of your bumper? George said that you got his and your old one is just laying around. True??

I've thought of that, running it up to a diffuser plate so it wouldn't cook the oil in a small area. Problem is that the exhaust would have to run a long ways. You've seen where mine is mounted haven't you?

Yeah I've got a rear bumper. Slight bend in one side but otherwise straight. Its all red since mine was a sport model. You can have it.

Your not gonna cook that oil. It is so cold that the rest of the oil will suck the heat out of it. Thats why you put it at the bottom of the pan so convection will warm more oil that way.

Sure I'll take the bumper. When can we get togeather?

By the way, I have a person with who I work with and she is a widow and has a 91 3500 from her late husband. Problem is that Diesel Doctor tried to take her to the bank to do some work. How bout getting the club togeather and maybe taking a look at it and see what we can do then schedule a work day to fix the ole gal. She has a large garage we can work in ect. Whadda you think? Let me know.
