sounds about right. #ad

the EGT's are a little higher than normal, and that is based on my trucks performance, not Spec's. but as for the coolant temp and the fan, they sound normal.

EGTs do sound high. I have a 2500 but at 70 I'm doing about 650*

The pyro temp is pre-turbo and while running up a 4-5% grade. On level ground the pyro temp is 700 degrees.

Scot,
One thing to remember is your altitude, the higher you go, the higher your EGT's will be (less O2). I think you may just have a slightly off calibrated temp sensor, the computer may think your engine is hotter than it really is and it's kicking the clutch in. Or, it could just be your heavy right foot! BTW, three gauge pod with Westach fuel pressure gauge on the way!

Don't be fuelish, go diesel

I have noticed ever since it has been getting warmer that my fan clutch has beening engaging quite a bit. When running at 70MPH with the A/C on and outside temp is 72 degrees the fan clutch will run almost constantly. I have changed the thermostat to a 180 degree and the fan clutch was changed last week... same problem. When the fan clutch is running or not, my temp gauge shows a hair less than 190 degrees and never goes higher. Any comments or suggestions. By the way, at 70 MPH my pyro is reading 950 degrees. TIA

Didn't realize you were running on grade. There were some posts from a guy in Colorado last year about the truck running hot in altitude pulling in the Rockies. If you are pulling in high altitude, loaded, on 4-5% grades this is probably normal. EGTs flat at 700 are about right. Hard to cool in thin air.
