Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) ETC and ETH Pistons

Are ETC and ETH pistons interchangeable. In other words if I use pistons from and ETC will it lower the compression ratio for my ETH. Any other differences ?

They should be directly interchangeable, IIRC. It's easier to go with a thicker HG if you want to lower CR. I'm assuming you already have the engine apart if you're looking at pistons.



I wouldn't recommend lowering CR until you're pushing 50psi of boost easy.



If you're shooting for mega HP, lowering the CR is a good idea.

Thanks for the info. The problem witht the thicker head gasket is now the injectors are further away from the piston than 'normal'.



I don't have the engine out yet, but I am working on it. !!!!
