ETH "black boxes"

I am sure this has been asked before but I yielded no results performing a search.
Are the EZ and the DD modules the only ones that work well on an ETH? Why?
I ask that because I see most BOMBed ETH owners only use the EZ or the DD.
If someone could link me a thread that could explain this that would be great.

VA CPC works. I saw one on a truck at the turbo shop in Macon last Friday. The guy swore by it. Just depends on how much you want. I think the VA says 60 HP and 160 fl/lbs.

I tried an old van Aaken on my ETH last week and really loved it. Really jazzed up my Cummins #ad
. Used it in combo with RV injectors and PS boost module. Did a 9 sec 0-60, about 1 sec quicker than without the vA. Power delivery right off idle and smooth. EGTs maxed at 1050 running 0-90mph, even with RV injectors and 3" exhaust/stock turbo. You could get it to smoke if you punched it but it would clear right up. No smoke if you roll into it.

I tried an EZ box the day before and while it did add good power, it came on all of a sudden around 1600rpm and there was quite a bit more engine noise compared to the vA. IMO the vA won hands down over the EZ, the only drawback is it needs a boost module.

I just dynoed mine with VA yesterday. 240 on the dyno with winter blend fuel. The fellow who ran the dyno thought that most ETC's ran about 170-175 at the rear wheels, stock. The EGT maxed at 1200. It really improves the driveability, as power comes on much quicker. The dyno verified that with a long flat torque curve, as well. I just wish it had a boost module. This Hp race is addictive!

Vaughn, have you tried the new VA built for the ETH? I have been told that the old VA is better on the ETH than the new one. I would hate to think I sold my VA and should have hung on to it!!! #ad

Pete, no I haven't tried the new vA box. The old one worked so well the only thing it needs is a boost module. I may grab a vA if I find a used one for a good price. . . maybe I should shut up and not rave about it or else everyone will be trying to snatch 'em up #ad
