So what is ETH? and do I have it? If I'am right it has something to do with the motor?.
I am still new and don't know all the abbreviation.
Thank's for any help.

<font color=blue>ETH is the designation for the Cummins High Output in the Dodge. Its rated at 245hp and is only available when ordered with a 6 speed. So your being "auto" no you don't have an ETH. Your designation is an ETC.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Katdiesel
But what does the ETC & ETH stand for? You said, ( Designation ) is this some type of number, related to hp?. Sorry as i said i don't know what all the abbreviation on the TDR mean. Maybe if one of you guys has time you could start a post an explain all the abbreviation, like va,& ez box, Dtts, & Pe, and so on. Just a thought

Thanks again Kat

Thunderball: ETH and ETC are factory order codes for Engines! both are the 5. 9L Cummins Diesel. As Kat said ETH being the High Output (24 Valve 245 hp) only available with a 6 speed, and ETC (24 Valve 235 hp)available with Auto or 5 speed. Why in those combinations? Who knows? So if you see ETH/DEE it is a HO/6spd... .

Didn't you get one of those pretty red Ram brochure/booklets at the dealer? If not skeedadle down there and get one! Tells you alot. While you're at it get the Towing guide (a little smaller red brochure). Good to keep on file for a few years down the road and your memory gets fuzzy as to what you have and what your load limits are.

Go to http://www.4adodge.com/ramtruck/index.html

that's the official Dodge Ram propaganda site where you can look in the 'horses mouth'.
Another, probably better site is Fritz's @
http://www.ecpe.vt.edu/~dfritz/default.htm

Also check the links here at TDR and at Fritz's. Lots and Lots of info there!

Have FUN!

Richard
