I was on my way to work yesterday and the engine kinda' stumbled, then was fine. A couple minutes later it got real bad. Cruisin along then the engine would cut out. Pump the pedal and it would kick back up for a moment. It goes down to idle and idles fine. I kept this up until I reached a (get this) Dodge/Chevy dealer. I went in to service and explained the situation. The service writer/manager (whatever) gave me a kind of blank stare, then said, first thing I'd check is the fuel filter. . .
GEE YA THINK!#@$%! Since it became clear that they don't actually repair vehicles there
I bucked and sputtered down to the local NAPA, bought a fuel filter and worked like hell to get the truck all the way home. I changed the filter last night but waited 'till today to test drive it. I made it an eighth of a mile and it started all over. It is a looonnnnggg way to a real Dealer, so, that would be a big tow bill. (68,000 miles on truck- this may not be a warranty thing) There is a check engine light, so a code has been set. Thanks guys. Dennis
