Let me start off by saying to the the TDR staff that I understand that ETR Diesel is an advertiser here and I was hoping that they (ETR Diesel) would have resolved this long ago. My purpose for this post is to solicit help from TDR members in an attempt to get my refund from ETR Diesel.

My dealing with ETR Diesel began when I purchased a fuel pump from them in July 2007. Shortly after purchasing the pump I decided to return it, new and unused as it was no longer needed. Per ETR's policy I contacted them for authorization to return the pump. Geoff told me to return the pump and advised me that there would be a 10% restocking fee which I agreed to.

The fuel pump was returned over two months ago and still no refund.

Since then I have talked to Geoff on no less than 5 occassions and I have emailed ETR 4 times. The last time I emailed them I received a phone call from Geoff telling me I should see a refund in a day or two. I believed him he seems like a nice guy. Well I'm still waiting and that was over a week ago. I paid with a MasterCard. What would you do ?

Thanks R_Painter, I called my credit union through which the card was issued and they are sending me out some paperwork. They also recommended that I wait until next Monday (?) to see if a refund appears. If no refund appears they suggest that I also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck... . I bought a quadzilla product from them a year ago and it did not work as advertised on my truck... . I sent it back to ETR and it took several months and several phone calls to get my refund... . I paid 500 bucks for it and he only refunded 450 of it... I will never buy anotherZZ product from ETR ever again... Thirty day money back gurantee sucks when they charge you fifty bucks.....

Refund

I too had a bad experience with ETR... I called them at least 15 times and sopke with numerous people including the owner Jeff who promised me a refund time and time again. I finially threatened with a lawsuit and my refund was finially granted. I had purchased a lot of parts from them in the past and did not have a problem until I needed to return something. It was returned in exchange for another part and I was charged for the new part but never refunded the money for the original until the letter was sent.

I would avoid this company in the future at all costs... The alreay had a strike on the Better Business Website with the status of "resolved"

Send them a Certified - Retrun Receipt letter and file a clam if necessary to get what you are owed.

Update On Refund

I want to thank all who responded to this thread giving me suggestions on how to proceed.

In a nut shell, I contacted my Credit Union to obtain paperwork in order to begin a dispute of the charges. I filed a claim with the BBB of Tennessee and I was considering filing claims with the Bureau of Consumer Affairs in both California and Tennessee. These were all great suggestions!!!

I then emailed ETR and advised them of what I had started and what I was intending to do as far as complaints.

Because of this I received a phone call from Geoff at ETR and he advised me that they had infact credited my MasterCard. He further stated that he had spent $38. 00 to overnight send me a copy of the refund transaction. I received a photo copy of a refund transaction today and it appears to be in order. Hopefully, I will soon see the refund.

I spoke with Geoff today regarding this post and I explained to him it was never my intent to shed bad light on his business. He and I also agreed that we would not argue in this forum regarding this transaction.

ETR experience

I had a transaction with ETR 4 months ago and they have never sent me what I ordered but they do have $1200. of my money. They kept telling me it was coming. Now the phone is disconnected , I have the owners cell phone number but the mailbox is full at all times and he does not return pages to his phone either. I think they are big crooks!

I strongly suggest that you use the ideas listed in the previous posts. If you used a credit card, I would dispute the charges immediately. File a claim with the better busness bureau of their home state. I can remember when I had my dealings with ETR I was very POed. All I ever got was lip service until I started filing complaints. Then Geoff had the nerve to tell me that he is consulting his attorneys because I created this post on TDR. As if I slandered his good name. All I ever wanted was my money back Geoff.

Better Business Bureau credentials can be purchased. File a State Attorney General (or whatever the equivalent is in your state) complaint. The state can turn the screws on dishonest people... the BBB, not so much.

Well I would worry about to much about Geoff, he has no room to talk as he has owed many of his vendors great deals of money and very slow to pay and for that matter a few of them will not sell to him anymore.

If you need evidence of the crap he has pulled shoot me a PM I will give you the contacts of vendors he has tripped up in the past.

I had even made metion to TDR staff a couple of years ago about his dealings and I see that it did not make much of a difference.

Sorry to hear that things went bad for you guys, but glad to hear that this is coming out in the open.
