Question For The Computer Whiz's......

Did the European fuel prices increase just like ours ? Is the $95++ per barel for USA only? Does anybody have a European contact ?

On our recent western vacation in September and October I was paying about $3 per gallon average. Thanks, Jim

i dont know for sure what they are paying per barrel, but when i went to visit my brother who was stationed in england, i think gas was 2. 35 per liter:eek::eek:

A recent news article stated that the average European fuel cost had gone up about 14% or so, depending on country, while ours has gone up about 50% or more in the same time frame...

Their fuel costs seem to be more related to open government taxes and controls - while ours is behind-the-scenes graft and corruption. In Italy and some other areas, the truckers and fishing industry has several times gone on huge strikes and pickets - and literally FORCED prices to be lowered - too bad we can't do the same here... #@$%!

I recently saw the Cheep Diesel at a Repsol in Madrid the other day for 1. 11 Euro/L. Based on the current conversion rate, that equates to about:

1. 11*1. 4745/0. 26 = $6. 29/Gal

Euro to Dollar -> 1:1. 4745
Liter to Gal -> 1: 0. 26

Thank God I do not have my truck over there (I could not afford it).
