I see in the new TDR Mag. that "Evans" is now advertising thier product in our Mag. I have run thier product in a gasser for the last 15 years or so and had no problems what so ever. Do any of you know of anyone running it in our CTD trucks? Thanks Larry

i think there are a few here in the 2nd gen forum who run the evans NPG coolent... and they are tons of guys over at the forc camp running the NPG in their 7. 3's...

it's good stuff but lots of $$$

On the plus side I liked the idea that it is a one time deal, and runs under "0" pressure so hoses last for ever also. On the Negative side I worried about the fact that if ever there were a roadside or on the road type of service required,ie water pump, hose, etc. I would have to add water to the system and that is considered a contaminent to the NPG coolant which must then be removed iether over time running or by replacing the coolant. Ane the cost was or is indeed high. I always carried a gallon extra in my motorhome in the hopes that if needed that would get me to a safe spot. In our CTDs a gallon is like a drop in the bucket. Oh well things to ponder.

That was the first drawback I thought of, also. That would be a problem.

I used it in my 7. 3 for many years worked great. Hardest part is getting all the old coolent and water out. Yes it is pricey but you will only have to do it once.

Have run it for 4 years in my 06 with coolant filter and zero pressure system. No issues. If you did have a leak under no pressure you should be able tocatch problem without a major coolant loss (maybe). Getting water out takes a little patience, but can be done. The stuff has benefits and not sure it is cost effecient, but it does not boil and there is no corrosion or electoalysis.
