The cooling systems on the trucks seem to function well... . we have 260K miles on an 04 pulling a 20K lb trailer all around the west in the desert and over the mountains and the only time we have problems is when we are closer to a truck going up a 6% grade than 50 ft... under 50 ft we tend to be in sheltered air and don't get enough across the front of the motor..... sort of like drafting...

I'd be real reluctant to put something in one of my trucks other than basic antifreeze that's approved by Cummins and distilled water... .

I've been using it mine for several years now, and all seems well. I used it because I've a 3rd gen engine in a GMC Suburban with a 2nd Gen radiator. . and twin electric fans. It pulls our 25 foot trailer just fine up 6% grades; the needle doesn't pass the 1/2 way mark. The Evans coolant is 'just in case' we hit a steep grade on a hot day and find ourselves following something slow. It'll handle the excursion without boiling...

I have some friends that run it and swear by it. You just have to make sure the cooling system is totally clean of the normal antifreeze before running it.

Yes - they sell a flush to clear out the old stuff, for those without an easy way to drain the block completely (i. e. Cummins, as I recall).

I can't do it justice here, but would highly recommend reading their website thoroughly - once you understand how it works, especially compared to water-based coolants and particularly as it reaches the coolants boiling temp, you'll understand it's value.

You'll have other problems before the coolant is an issue - oil too hot, or transmission oil too hot, etc. .

Nice side effect is the ability to run zero (or near zero) pressure in the system too (safer, easier on the radiator, hoses, etc). Now, finding a low-PSI cap can be fun...

If you feel you're likely to run near the limits of cooling capacity, it's a great product.
