it's quiet because it's just free-wheeling untill pressure is built up

Exactly, what Forrest said. With no load the pumps are quiet. When you load them up they make the noise.

no no no it's quiet for two or three weeks then it starts back to being loud

then you can drain the filter and it is quiet

Are you getting any dirt out of the filter that might be plugging things??



That is odd for it to be quiet for a couple weeks at a time...

yes the only way to make it quiet is to let some fuel out and bump the starter a few times and start her upand nice and quiet once more

for a wile
