Obviously I did not word my last question properly so let me try it this way :-laf

Everyone with aftermarket Turbo's what type of intake tube and what air filter set up are you running? And is there alot of turbo whistle at cruise or just when spooling.

I like the turbo whistle, but not non stop. I am sure my torque tube intake causes alot and I tried putting the stock intake tube back on but my stock intake tube doesnt fit between the ATS manifold and the hump hose going to the turbo, so that is why I ask the above Question

Well my AFE Stage II does not seem to be too loud to me. I really don't hear it much over the engine and exhaust. Only time I really hear the SPS66 spooling is when I am next to fence or noise walls.

I also have a AFE stage 2 with the silver bullet turbo, and yes, to me, it is loud, and it does get annoying

I am currently running the BD intake w/ eliminator pipe and I like the turbo noise it has with the silencing ring removed

Hmmm, I wonder if it is my hearing or if mine is really that much quieter than yours. Have to compare next time I see you.

Probably 90+% of the II turbos we sell get the AFE STage II usually in PG7. You have to uncork the inlet to allow the new turbo to work un impeded etc so the Stage II really flows the most to help with that!

Ran basically a Stage 1 AFE with a standard media style of filter in conjunction with the ProStreet 66 from High Tech turbo and had great success with that. Mild noise cruising but when it came on - the sound was awesome.

Mark, that is pretty much my current set up. I believe my best bet is to change the torque tube to something else, but what?

How tight is the fit on the stock intake tube? When I tried to do that the large center section of intake tube hit both the exhaust manifold and the hump hose going from turbo to the intercooler

SPS66 and AFE Stage 1

daytripper - I run a II SPS66 and the AFE Stage1. It whistles pretty good but it's not loud as the MBRP muffler resonator under load.
