I guess the campground owner is looking to wind down. At the same time, I wonder what event set this off? Maybe someone had contraband shipped in? It would be great to hear the manager/ owner defend himself.

Most if not every campground we've been to hands out a list of their "deadly sins". Dogs on a leash, quiet after a certain time, no alcohol in public areas, etc. Usually the big ones that will get you disciplined or removed. It would be interesting to see what is on their list that they hand out.

Really sad although rare. We camp a lot and what we typically complain about is poor infrastructure or grounds maintenance. We camp a lot near national parks, so many are old and have small lots, but usually ok.

I am going to be polite here, family oriented and all that.
What a bunch of BS! This is absolutely ridiculous.

In all fairness I invite the Manager of that Campground openly to come on here and explain the policy and reason. I also in fairness invite the Campground owners here to explain the same, BUT HOWEVER THE EXPLANATION THAT "these are the rules or that is our policy" will NOT FLY!
And yes, it is their property and they don't have to explain crap. On the other hand it is my choice to make sure that I do not patronize them and to make sure anyone I talk to on the subject, make sure they do not patronize them either.

My brother and his wife leave Missouri in November, head to Riviera, Texas and do not return until March or April. They are both on medications that need routine refilling monthly and I know for a fact his medication refills are shipped directly there, plus he's had DISH systems antennas and parts delivered, and an entire host of other things. NO PROBLEM!

Because YELP and sites like these are powerful tools and until someone can explain this in a reasonable fashion, I will make it a point to NOT patronize them, I will make sure my brother NEVER does (he's a TDR Member also) and whenever discussing towing I will make sure to bring this place to the conversation.

And Wayne yes, contraband was the first thing that entered my mind yesterday when I read this...........however surely a reasonable way of doing this should be available. Even highlighting the section of the rules when at the desk, make the RVer initial each rule as they go over them and sign at the bottom, so it is clearly understood before renting.
Having the camper open the package in front of the Manager, hell I don't know, but surely something could be worked out.
I am sorry, this online ordering is part of the real world that 90% +of the country participates in, so the Campground needs to wake up and come into the 21st Century.

And further, David C as soon as my trailer cleared the gate, I would have pulled over and called my bank and cancelled the credit card charges, You paid for a product or service that was not delivered.

Here are their reviews from Tripadvisor. It appears that the people in the video and others have reviewed them recently. In addition, the negative reviews go back to May, long before the video appears. It solidifies in my mind that this isn't an isolated situation.

Yeah no clue whats going on with that place.

We have a local RV place that changed owners a few years back its hit and miss. I live 8 min from the place and my sister had an annual spot for 4 years would cost me $22 to go there for a cook out with my wife, we never used any services like the pool or the sort, just wanted to hang at their spot for like the kids bday, didn't matter we were locals no free passes!

It was crazy reminds me of that place in the video. I never recommend that local place to anyone.

Sister pulled out of there 1.5 years ago along with a large number of others.

Bad management and word of mouth go a long way. But you have to take these online reviews with a grain of salt, the good can easily be stagged, and the bad can be crazy people who you can never please.

Also just a FYI if you find your self at a place that refuses to accept packages, Walgreens and a bunch of other places will hold FedEx stuff for pickup.

Yea, reviews can be real or fake. When posted on the site that is controlled by the company being reviewed - I believe them even less.

Grab-a-gun website has a lot of good reviews on guns and very few negative reviews. My brother left a neg review on a gun that was never published/posted. He tried to submit it again - and again it was never published/posted. As a test, he left a positive review on a different gun - and it was published/posted within hours. Both the positive and neg reviews were truthful with each including pictures.

I tend to believe neg reviews more than I do positive ones especially when there are a lot of neg reviews.

I had a similar experience with RKGuns.com. I left a less than positive review on an item and RK wouldn't publish it. I left a 5 star review on another one and it was posted.

I'm certainly not condoning the ALEDGED behavior by the park, but anytime we've been at an RV park that we needed to order a package. I ask the park rep if there are any problems having packages delivered. This isn't from a perspective of breaking a park rules much as how my package will be handled by the park.

When staying at a park in San Francisco, I had to order a reciever mounted tire carrier when the first carrier I built failed mounted to the headache rack. I asked the front desk rep and they said they won't accept packages or be involved with them whatsoever and that it was my responsibility to have it delivered to my RV spot. I did this and it worked ok. Had I just ordered it to the park office it would have been declined.

Although mine is a different issue than OP listed, it just highlights communication is critical when doing special things.

Although the Internet is a great resource and we use it about 90% of the time finding RV parks, we still like the big ole Woodalls RV book. We found it to be reliable, truthful, and we like the way its organized. We frequently like to stay at quaint Mom and Pop parks that are nice, well kept, and many times off the grid, especially when staying the night.

Anyhoo, even the park listed by the OP, we may find ourselves staying there, just always cognizant that just staying, minding our business, and communicating any needs outside that has worked for 21 years crisscrossing America and Canada.

When this first broke, the first thing I did was go to their site and check the RULES.

To save the rest of you the trouble....... There is nothing in the RULES about receiving a package!!!!!!

Really sad to see this, but doesn't surprise me in that area anymore. I grew up on a farm west of Montrose. Loved it. After what the area has become I won't be moving back anytime soon. My parents are in the process of selling the farm and looking at moving up here to Wyoming. Too many people have moved in and run up the cost of living and they fight tooth and nail to keep much for decent paying jobs to offset this out of the area.

I have actually been the delivery guy for big parts like car hoods, RV appliances, etc. to a park in Greeley, Colorado. A day cab semi pulling a 53 footer doesn't fit the best so we meet at the gate on the shoulder. Had to leave stuff at the office a couple times, but the person always had it cleared with the park owners so it's never been an issue. My wife and I have never been at a park yet in our travels that says no receiving packages, they do want you to ask/talk to them about it before you order like Wiredawg did. I read the park's response to this, their reasoning makes sense IF you are staying long-term like 2 weeks, a month or longer. What the park did seems very extreme, and both sides getting heated over it didn't help the situation. In any case, if it's that big of an issue they should post it front and center on their rules. We make our reservations online, but I call the day after making them to actually talk to someone and confirm. How they act on the phone tells me a lot about the people who own and work there and how they treat others.
