Maybe I am just deaf after years of driving a Cummins equipped Dodge Ram, but I hear

no ticking. But then again you could be hitting the frame with a sledgehammer and I

would still think it is quieter than my Dodges.

Does everybodies tick?

LOL

That's another reason they shouldn't let old men drive diesels. . can't figure out weather it's the engine or a monkey tapping on the frame. . LOL:rolleyes:

Old Men...LOL

Stan and JConley:

You know I love you guys... no offense on the last post... you guys are the best, what i meant was;) ... . old men that drive Chevy Diesels:D ;)

Who Got The Business Last?

That would be the "Dabubba" when we were in Tulare. Curt got saucer eyes and shut it down!:)

I wasn't making fun of the CTD. I was simply stating that compared to a Cummins the Chevy is quiet. A number of people think that the Durmax "clicks". Mine must not because I don't hear it. And if it did "click" I would still think it wasn't as loud as the CTD.

I owned a 94 and 99 Ram. ANd I think they are great trucks. I don't drive the Rubicon, plow with a 10 foot steel plow on the front end, and don't lose sleep over the fact that the Chevy doesn't sound like a garbage truck.

I chose to get a Chevy with a Duramax/Allison because I wanted a crew cab, 0% finance rate, and it rides better. The fact that it yanks my fifth wheel around better is just icing.

And Cumminzpower, I am not old. I am mature. Whats the opposite of that?

My '95 Dodge/Cummins doesn't sound like a garbage truck either... although if I drove a Duramax around I might wish I HAD a garbage truck or THREE close by so I could save a whole bunch of aluminum cans...

I know guys that are 30 that I would consider old..... and I know guys that are 60 that I consider young..... its all in your attitude.

I have a loud CTD and I love it, I guess at 33 I am young. . heheeh

ha ha ha , i almost fell out of my chair. you pick the trailer and the hill, im sure there are plenty of guys on this board that would love to embarass you on this note. make it out to this side of the country, and i'll do it myself. . as a matter of fact, im going to make a bold statment. there aint a dmax allison combo out there that will beat me up a hill with the same trailer on. :p :p

Rubberneck when was the last time you drove a Duramax? I will never have anything bad to say about the CTDs that I have had, both were great trucks and combined I had over 300,000 miles on them. But I think the Duramax is better for my needs. 75% of my driving the truck is empty, so I choose ride quality. Is it as heavy duty as a Ram? Not in my opinion, but it pulls my 5th wheel better! My 99 CTD was comletely stock, and the Chevy will stay that way also. Until you have driven the Duramax I would try not to fall out of your seat.
