Excited about 2005 mileage

I picked up my 2500 ram 4X4 on Friday. Drove throught Philly in traffic for 3hrs stop and go the whole way. This was followed by 3hr trip to Cabelas in Hamburg and another 3hr trip to a friends house in State college. I also stopped along the way and drove through a few small towns to vary the rpms as suggested by bighammer. Today, I drove from state college to VA. When I reached the interchange for 70 east, I had about a half tank of fuel and decided to fill up. I had 352 miles on the trip odometer and added 17. 8 gallons of fuel. This is almost 20mpg. I also babied the truck--never over 65mph. The overhead read 18. 5 for most of the trip, except for the traffic portion where it read 14. 4 for a long time.



I could not be happier. Please note, I had the dealer add 285 bfg's. I think this may have made a difference. Overall a great truck and a great dealer--Performance Dodge in Woodbury NJ.
