I have a 01 with a auto trans, I don't believe I can get a exhaust brake for it, what can I do? Are there any electronic brakes for the trans? If so what is the best?

Lots of TDR Members with Autos Use Exhaust Brakes...

Good link above to DTT. I do have the DTT SmartConroller and a PacBrake. I don't know if the PacBrake is the best, but it does the job. After experiencing it, I wouldn't be without it. The only reservation I have is that if I want to go to a larger turbo, I will have to replace the PacBrake.

Both Banks and BD make exhaust brakes for your truck and offer electronic modules to lock the torque converter and increase line pressure. You can even get the Banks brake with the 4" Monster exhaust.

I have had a BD Exhaust Brake on my 94' since it had about 35,000 miles. It now has 150,000. You will need to have the ability to keep the TCC locked in order to make the brake effective. This can be done with the small computer boxes others have mentioned above, but you can also install a switch that will allow you to lock the TCC simply by flipping the switch.

Personally, I would not want a Diesel pickup with out an exhaust brake.
