Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) exhaust brake 3rd gen to 2nd gen

I want to upgrade to a phat shaft turbo and keep a exhaust brake. My question is can I use a brake from a 3rd gen. Will my vacume pump operate it?

It works fine on the 2nd gen trucks, but you will need a 3rd gen downpipe. The guys on TDR with the 3rd gen trucks who have upgraded their exhaust should be able to help you get a stock downpipe. If you have a 4" exhaust already... . then you just cut the flange off of the end & weld on a 3rd gen flange. The 3rd gen brake must be modified slightly, but it is a easy to do upgrade. It is simple & I'd be willing to help if you want to make the drive... . I have a big garage full of tools & always willing to help a TDR member.
