I'm installing a pacbrake exhaust brake on my truck and am wondering if any one has used the jacobs e-brake gear lever switch that is available for the 3rd gen. trucks? Are the levers the same diameter? Will the switch hold up to the soliniod amp load. any input would be much appreciated, Thanks ,Dave

i can't speak as for whether or not it will fit but i can tell you not to worry about the current draw. i measured it but forget the exact load... i think it was about half an amp. got mine used and had to clean the pneumatic valve but it only took a few minutes.

JM, thanks for your reply, yes I think it l will hold up to the amp draw. Ive been trying to find out if this switch is a nornally open or closed(03 jacobs brake shift lever switch). Short of buyng one at Cummins to find out if it would work or not I've got the ears of all you experts out there for input, Thanks again!

While we're on the subject, not to hijack the thread... Has anyone attempted a manual, spring-returned, exhaust brake? eg, take an exhaust elbow, get some good thick SS, fab a damper, and then fab up a rotator assembly with return spring... I was thinking of this for a cheaper unit, and calibrating it for 30-40% dampening... .

lemme know yer thoughts...
