Ideas for leveling bed with 5th wheel hitch rails?

I'm going to put an exhaust brake on my 2005 Cummins with automatic 4 speed and 3. 73 rear end (dually) I live in Long Beach, so if anyone is familiar with a good shop and installer there, I'd love to hear a recommendation. I know Camping World does a lot of installtions, but I'd prefer a shop that specializes in Dodge applications.

And get this: The service department at Glen Thomas Dodge says they won't install a Jacobs brake to a 2005. It's "not approved yet" Hmmm... . wonder who's approving the factory installed Jacob's on the 2006's then ?????

thanks, George

Welcome to the forum George, Dodge has never approved an Ebrake on the earlier auto's and made substantial changes to the transmission (both H/W & S/W) for 06 in order for it to survive with with the Jacobs. I suspect you'll at least need a trans controller to safely use any Ebrake but I could be wrong. Others here know a lot more about it than I do ~ I'm sure they'll chime in. .

Good luck!

Scotty

George the 2006 has been upgraded with a program to keep the torque converter locked. You will need to buy a controller from DTT or ATS or B&D for that exhaust brake to do you any good. I went through that with my 01 auto. I got the DTT controller it worked great & was adjustable to what speed I wanted lock up to engage.

the only place i can think of is autoworks diesel, down somewhere off of the NJ turnpike above the PA turnpike.

I can tell my 48re in my 2006 works and shifts much different than my 48re in my 2004. 5. I will install ebrake about mid summer.
