I had the dealer install a Jacobs exhaust brake right out of the Dodge accessory catalog before I took delivery of my 01. I love it! Haven't had a problem with it since I bought it in May 01 and it holds my truck and camper combo going downhill. Couldn't be happier. I'm not sure about the 07's but I'd ask the dealer. Jacobs makes them to plug and play on the Dodges. The only thing you might want to consider is if you will change out your turbo to an aftermarket one in the future. Again, I'm not sure about the 07's but my turbo and Jake are only compatible with each other due to the fact that they bolt together. Other turbos including a friend's 98 CTD and aftermarket ones attach with a band clamp which is a bit more of a universal fit and will be how any turbo you might put on in the future will attach to the exhaust system and exhaust brake. If this is the case, double check the current ones Dodge offers to see how it attaches. If you need to go with the band clamp you may need to look at an aftermarket one. You will find as many people here telling you they love their particular brand of brake as you will find guys in public telling you they love their Dodge, Ford, or Chevy. I do have some experience with PacBrakes on the work trucks I drive and none of it has been positive. Love that Jacobs!!

Welcome aboard the TDR!

I also have the jake. Dealer put it on for me. I rolled it in the loan. Went back a couple of months later and had it installed. Mighty handy pulling trailers and I use it solo as well around town.

I just installed a Pacbrake on my 04. 5. I am very happy with it and the quality of the kit.

The nice thing with the Pacbrake is you get on-board air along with the brake.

I will tow with it for the first time this Friday.

Two of my friends have the Jacobs and they love it. It is a great brake. Plan on changing the vacuum pump eventually. If yolu are doing any mods to your turbo or CP3 i would stay away from the Jacobs.

After market turbo-vacuum canister rubbs on the firewall. You have to SMASH the wall up to get itto work.

CP3 mods-if you are installing an after market fuel pump or removing your CP3 the vacuum pump sits directly on top of it and you have to remove the belt and pumpto access CP3 pump.

If you aremodding your truck i would stay away from it. my 2centz

Do a search on the MOPAR Jake. You will find many of us have had to replace the vacuum pump several times. After the 4th failure in 145k miles I switched to a PAC. It is much faster to engage and disengage and it slows me down better. You can install it in a day with simple hand tools.

I had the Jake installed when I ordered the truck. Because of vacuum pump failure at 35k miles, as well as some other reasons, I'll be selling mine and getting a PacBrake...

Didn't Pacbrake have a deal going on where you could trade in your Jacobs unit? Any idea if it is still running?

I installed a Pacbrake PRXB on my '07,5. 9. I really like it. It is like throwing an anchor out when it is activated. I also installed a shifter switch at the same time to be able to activate it or cancel it. I have towed with it and it works well. Onboard air is great to have also.

Maybe the JACOBS is a good brake but when I read about guys replacing siezed vacuum pumps and loosing the accessory belt, I would stay away.
