Truck at dealership for overheating

Hi guy's just hit 14000 miles and the exhaust brake stopped working. Dealer said there's nothing wrong with the truck and I know there is. I know how it works and the turbo veins are fine plenty of boost and no check engine light. I thinking of calling cummins to confirm my thoughts. What do you guys think. Oh 2015 3500 srw with aisin

When you push the button the first time do you get a cluster message that it in in full mode and the second time you push it does it say Auto Mode??? Newbie - Snoking

1400 miles in 48 hours of ownership!!!

I leave it in full mode I have been using it since new it's always worked but now you can activate it and watch the percentage on the cluster and it's barely moving even in tow haul mode its barely moving

I wonder if the gauge reads command or feedback?

If it's reading command then it's showing what it's being told to do. Feedback is what it's actually doing.

The equipment I work with on the boat ( they're over 300' now so some call em ships) we can see command and feedback side by side for all thruster and rudder systems.

If you know which one you're looking at you will know if the controller is telling it to do that or it's mechanically not doing it.

I know that on mine (I have an intermittent issue where the EB doesn't come on), the gauge never shows it's on....when it's not. Does that make sense? :)

I understand what you're saying. But I guess without knowing where the gauge gets its value from and being able to see the other reading makes it hard to use my method of preliminary troubleshooting.
It seems like a service tech should be able to see if the turbo is not being told what to do or it's just not doing what it's told.
Do obd2 readers like Edge Insight show the signal going to and coming from the VGT? I've been looking for more excuses to buy one.

I never had a problem until now it would slow the truck down to about 25 to 30 mph and in tow haul mode even more but now just hit 14000 miles it seemed to quit even in tow haul. Almost like it not getting a signal. I think if it was a turbo problem it would set a check engine light plus when you turn ignition on it cycles the veins in the turbo to make sure they are not stuck. It needs to see 0 accelerator and 0 fuel to activate.

Mine has 17k. Use it on full constantly. Works down to 5 mph. Still works like new.

But the programming is so much simpler with the G56.

So I took the shop Formen for a ride and he said the exhaust brake is not working Finally some one who gets what I am talking about. His contacting ram and Cummins to find some answers. Lets see what happen next.

So the dealer called and said they ordered a pcm. They think that's the problem. Waiting to talk to the garage forman so he can tell me how they came to thins conclusion. We ll see tomorrow.

there was a flash that addressed that issue along with some other things. If your Pcm is not at the latest version get it updated

So they put an ecm in it and flashed it didn't fix the problem now they ordered a turbo that's like 6000 dollars in parts so fare with out labor good thing for a warranty. The area rep has been involved from the beginning let's see what happens.

Great went under my truck today to do some undercoat and saw that they crushed my oil pan when they replaced my turbo great now To go to war with the dealer.
