Anyone have an exhaust brake on there truck? Is the only one a Jacobs? Does Pac Brake or BD have one for the 2003?Thanks for bearing with all the questions. I just to get all my ducks in a row before I spend 35 to 40 thousand on a pick up truck.
Yeah, and they keep knocking back the date. They emailed me and said November. By the time they actually have the product, I will have nicely rusted exhaust bolts. Poop.
Remove your exhauste bolts now, coat them with anti-sieze and you'll have no problem no matter how long you have to wait. Think of it as a practice run for installing your e-brake.
Looks like the exhaust elbow is attached on both ends by bands of some sort. I think they lock two flanges together. Is that new for 2003 or have they always been like that? Seems my 97 had two bolts that held a flange on the exhaust pipe. Anyway, I will loosen the clamps and apply some antisieze on the threads. It really does not look that difficult a job. Probably best done from below though. Cheers.
