Mopar Oil Filters - CHEAP!

Hey all, I know there is about 1000 posts on this but man, i just spent 30 minutes weeding thru them and didnt find the answer I am wanting.

What I would like to know is if you have 4" exhuast and downpipe can you use a turbo mounted exhaust brake or do you have to go auxillary?

Jeff

I have an HX35 with a turbo mount Pac Brake and a Banks 4" exhaust. They won't work if you get a 4" down pipe for a 40 style turbo.

Dan

You might want to think of a remote mount brake. If a set of twins or at least a bigger turbo is in your plans, you will need the remote mount anyway.

US Gear did a nice write up on the pros and cons of the turbo and remote mount brakes.

I have a US Gear remote. Also have a B1B and there is NO way there is room on the end of the B1B.

IF you are ever going to change the turbo or run out of lateral room after the turbo, then remote it.

4" Turbo mounted Banks to 4" in exhaust

Here is a picture of Banks 4" exhaust brake mounted up to a 4" exhaust system, Rip Rook style.

To answer your question YES you can hook up a 4" exhaust to a turbo mount exhaust brake.

BUT as stated above if you ever go to a larger turbo you will need a new exhaust brake.

So if I were to do say a Hx40/35 Hybrid is there going to be enough room to go turbo mount or will remote be my option.

Jeff

I assume by hx40/35 hybrid you mean an hx40 compressor and hx35 exhaust. If so I don't have any idea, If you plan on using the bigger hx40 exhaust housing I don't believe the stock size turbo mount will fit. The USgear has the full butterfly and gives better low rpm performance. plus it fits on a 4" exhaust.
