I often find myself in stop and go driving, and the jake brake really helps slow her down, so I leave it on most of the time. Are there any disadvantages to this?

I've been doing that with my Banks Brake. With the solid state contrller I'm not worried about wearing out a micro switch uner the throttle pedal.

I reckon more use = more wear?? But who cares, you use your truck everyday, and it wears too. They are addictive, combined with diesel smoke it is worse then crack cocaine. Once you have one, you are hooked. You need to hear it on every lift on the throttle foot, and their is no known cure. I leave my truck in "overdrive off" around town, that way you can turn the commander way down and use the E-brake everywhere. I don't know what I like better, listening to the sound it makes, or watching others reaction to it, either way it's great. Keep using it, they'll make more.
