Seems like years ago I remember seeing a device used to bypass a muffler on a as want to basis. It would be neat to have some type of diverter valve to bypass the muffler. Has anyone seen such a item and is it available for our trucks?

Just a thought, sometimes there is still a little teenager in me that wants out to play. :-laf

Do a search there are 4" electric controlled cutout devices available. I don't remember on what site right now.

The 3rd gens are so quiet that you can install a cut out in front of the muffler add a bit of pipe to direct it out of harms way and be quiet enough to not need that expensive valve.

Not at all... ... ... . the muffler bypass seems to work fine,I am just saying you can avoid spending the money on the valve unless you want it to be as quiet as stock. Be aware though that any cut out or muffler is illegal in Cali, quiet or not. Not sure of other states
