i know you can get a 5in exhaust on ebay for around 350 turbo back system, but say MBRP exhaust is a pretty good jump in price. Is it worth the extra bucks, and i dont mean in just sound, but performance also? So basiclly is the performance that much better to spend an extra 250? and how about the sound?

I put on a 4" MBPR turbo back in Dec. just before we left on a winter vacation towing our fiver. The noise isn't to bad under normal driving and towing. The noise level definitely gets up there when I get in it and after 2000 RPMs. It is loud towing at 70 MPH plus. That being said, I want things to open up when I'm getting in it. We find the noise tolerable but others may not. I enjoyed the stock quiet but I had to put on a new system as the pipes on my stock system were getting long splits in them. The MBPR installs perfectly and easily. I went with it because of price and availablity as I needed it pronto. Performance wise I find it hard to say. It sounds good at idle.

I did lots of research on this and ended up losing the muffler, but keeping the cat and the rest of the stock exhaust. I couldn't be more pleased. Sounds like a "real" diesel now, but is nowhere near being obnoxious. Sounds awesome when you get on it, but is not too loud driving normally.

The only real difference in performance is in the fit and finish of the system, example some kits have much higher quality clamps and hanger designs(beleive me having your exhaust vibrate loose from its hanger every few thousand miles is no fun!). If your thinking about going without a muffler just know that towing will drive you nuts . . . . . can you say drrrooonnne. But hey it sounds cool right
