Fellow TDR wizards, if one blows the #6 exhaust manifold gasket, could that cause enough of a pressure drop in turbo output to cause a serious loss of power on my '07? #1 appears to be slightly leaking also. Currently in the middle of an extended RV trip, with my truck in the shop.......not good.

Thanks guys

Of course, any leak any where in the system will cause a significant loss of power, not just exhaust side but also on th e intake side .... loose, cracked boost boots, intercooler, etc.

Yeah that makes sense, I'm just surprised at how much power I lost. To summarize, first there was the hi pitched squeal that only occurred under certain load and throttle positions. Of course that started happening when we were completely out in the boonies hauling our rig. It did go away for about 300 plus miles, kinda strange. Truck sat for a few days while we visited friends in St. George, UT. Yesterday the squeal came back, along with a ridiculous loss of power after that got even worse after that ominous sound went away. I'm thinking the squealing part of the failed #6 gasket finally let loose, and allowed even more of a pressure drop in the process.

Additional thoughts anyone?

You may want to check the flatness of the manifold when you remove it. it may need to be surfaced or replaced. You don't say how many miles you have.

St. George Utah has a big RAM Dealer, very kind People. Helped me with a lost Brake Bolt on Friday Evening close to 18:00 to get back on the Road.

If you have to replace go with one of the aftermarket manifolds as they allow for contraction and expansion
