Threw my 4" Jardine on today. Pretty nice setup, but can't figure where to hang the last hanger behind the axle. Anybody got a good description or pic? Thanks.

Eric

Too dark for a pic now, sorry.

Is your last hanger a rubber gromet, or a hanger with a steel piece and a screw hole?

The last hanger that was on the stock exhaust bolted to the frame and hung down about 8" or more. It's not a hanger like the rest with the rubber dampeners, but rather has a piece of rubber that was riveted to the steel that was bolted to the frame and was welded to the original pipe. The hanger that I have left from the install doesn't seem to fit anywhere, and I think I put the rest of them in the right location. Some instructions from Jardine would have been helpful.

My Jardine came with a few crummy hangers... does yours hang a little lower than the stock pipe?? I have wanted to raise it up about 2 inches, but the weather here sux lately... . I found a place for my hanger, but it is cocked off at an angle, and you can see the clamps, which I am not too thrilled to be bragging about. .

I am thinking of possibly fabricating my own. . I do metal art when I am not busy working... . I will see how it turns out, and if it looks ½ decent, I will let ya know. . I may could fabricate them, and sell them for like $5-10 + shipping ($3-5)... Will get back to ya when weather clears up!!

Nope

I haven't had time to mess with it, school has kept me pretty busy. I'm not too good with a welder, so fabbing up my own is not really a good idea if I want it to be pretty. I guess I am going to have to take it to a local muffler shop and shell out some $$$ to get it rigged up right. I've been driving it around with just the last hanger used as a clamp, and it is doing alright, but I don't want to leave it like this for any longer than I have to.

Since my truck is a standard cab, I had to cut one length of pipe, so I wonder if this cut had anything to do with my exhaust hanging lower than stock, like charlan mentioned. It's not hurting anything and really doesn't look THAT bad, but I would like to bring it up some if I can.

I'm due for an oil change/service soon, so I plan to look into it further this weekend or over Thanksgiving when I have a break from school.

Anymore thoughts, experiences, pics would be helpful and appreciated. TIA.

Eric

I will get a pic tomorrow for you of what the rear hanger looks like on the pre 98 trucks. It is as you explained a hanger with a bolt hole and no rubber grommet like the others. I'm guessing that Jardine sent you the wrong hanger, they did that to me too. I'll also take a pic of the hanger for the 98 and up trucks that they originally sent me.
