Exhaust help!

I ordered a muffler elim. kit from a place (not genos) and basically ruined my stock muffler getting it off. Now the elim. pipe is about 8 inches to short. So all I have on is the elim. pipe under the bed. Sounds like crap. Anybody have any ideas ? I really cant afford a whole new system and hopefully once its all back together it will sound better or I will have to find a muffler again. I used to like straight pipes. I will be posting the business name as soon as I get to talk with them. I wish I would have just left it alone!! :{

find a truck shop that will get you a 51" X 4" Donaldson or Nelson straight truck muffler. Get a 3. 5" to 4" adapter and have a shop weld it in as far to the rear as possible. You will be a happy camper. The longer muffler will make up the shortage you have now and it will sound great but be nice and quiet with the windows up.
