Okay,

Got my cool looking mud flaps last night. Started tonight to look and see how to get the attached. Started searching TDR and see something about having to modify the exhaust - run out with passenger bracket, and lookie... my exhaust is in the way.

So now what are my choices?

1) Cut the mud flap? NOPE - paid good money for these and had some custom emblems put on it - look stupid if I did.

2) Get a new exhaust system? Okay, sounds good, but which one? I'm wanting to get a BD Exhaust brake eventually, perhaps a remote one since I've read about going to a larger turbo I'd need a remote one to have it work. Plus I live in that part of country where they like to put salt down, so will the remote Exhaust brake work?

3) Go to an exhaust shop and have them cut the old part off, put it further back?

Argghhh... so many things to do and it seems like a lot are happening right away.

So, for those that have the mud flaps, please post what you did. Also, if you have pictures of the bracket, please post those too since I'm not quite sure of the mud flap attachment.

Thanks, Michael

Hi,

I put mine on and I had the rip Rook 4" exhaust already on so it wasn't in the way. For a temporary fix, I would go to an exhaust shop to move the end of the pipe.

I didn't use the long bracket with the "L" at the end. I found out that I just did 4 bolts and nuts in the curve of the fender making sure you hit the metal and use the nuts on the rear. I did this and it is very strong. You have to drill the metal that goes up against the fender so put a support under it, measure carefully and drill once;) 4 bolts evenly curved holds very well.

I had Jason make a custom 4" dual exhaust and install a remote mount BD brake at the same time:D . Glad I did now, I hate running into problems. This exhaust looks and sounds great btw so if you looking at a new exhaust, take a look at this one. Hope you get it worked out without much trouble. Refer to my photo album for pics of the exhaust also.
