Have you replaced a 4" exhaust with a 5"?

Trying to get my 5" MBRP on, got as far as loosening the tail-pipe from the muffler and pulling, wiggling, shoving and hurting myself!!!

Can you help a brother out??

I need some tips on getting this thing off my truck...

Thanks... Michael

Stock exhaust removal? I cut mine under the passenger door with a sawzall and took it out in two pieces. Worked slick.

thanks, but forgot to add, I have no Sawzall, or torch...

Hhhhhmmmmm, however, thinking it might cost 2 to 3 hours from a muffler shop... that would probably pay for a sawzall... ... . hhhhmmmmmmm

Maybe, but any more suggestions for me in my current situation?

There's always that option lol. I'm on the other side of the country if you're closer to me :) You may be able to split the female end of the joint with a hammer and chisle enough to get it loose..... course that's alot easier with a torch

ROTFL. I, well, we, HoleshotHolset and I, worked our butts off, trying to remove mine, to get my MBRP on. Finally got a sawsall and cut the MF off. You could go to a rental center and rent one for twenty bucks or so, maybe less. Well worth the money spent. We did try the chisel thing. If you got the tape from Muncie that jwilliams sells, on the part where he is driving around the parking lot Sat. night, and pulls back into the lot, that's us you can hear banging with the chisel. Got us nowhere. Sawsall had it out in 5 minutes. Rent one, best advise I can give ya. And good luck.

Use a wheel Cutter, At the Joints cut One side and hit Hard it will fall apart,When you cut it you can weld it and reuse it if you want in the future.

Now I'm mad!!

What kind of guy doesn't own a freaking Sawzall??!!!

Said over and over in girlfriend's presence... ... heehee

buying one is better than paying a shop to install the set-up...

Right?

Always looking for a reason to go to Home Depot!!

Yep. We did mine in the Lee's parking lot at Muncie. I got the duals, so it took a little playing to line up the drivers side, but nothing bad. It fits right around the stock spare, and one thing to watch is the vent lines and a brake line off the diff may touch, so tie wrap them up out of the way. The stock clamps are junk, one broke while tightening, so I went with the steel band clamps, $6 each at a truck shop. They had nice shiny chrome ones, so they match well.

Oh, just remembered, don't let the sawsall get too far away. I had to cut about a 3" piece out of the long line to get it to fit. Better than being short. If you have the short bed, it will be more than that. Overall, great system. I ran their muffler with nothing else, no aeroturbine, or anything. Sounds great and no drone, barely louder than the stock, but with a deeper rumble. Until you get into it hard, then it roars, like a straight pipe. But at cruise, you will like it.
