exhaust leak or injector knock?

After my 04. 5' gets revved up it will make a light tapping noise as it winds down. I almost think it's an exhaust leak from where I tapped my EGT probe, but I have that sucker tight and I can't feel an exhaust leak.



The tapping is quick and only discernable after I gun it and let it wind down... is this the injector knock y'all have talked about?



I have noticed my Milage dropped a little from where it had been right after the install of my intake and exhaust... I get about 16 from the 18 or 19 I was getting... I know it's still well within tolerance, but I am paranoid.

diesel engines all make noise. it could be the ecm turning the injectors back on. if the ecm is programed like most diesel engine ecm's, when the engine is winding down, there is no need to fuel, so it doesn't, once the engine speed is reached, then it begins to fuel to maintain the speed... i don't know if this cummins/DC program in the ecm's we have is programed like this, but i think it should be [saves fuel, lower emissions,]
