So I was pulling my 5th wheel back from up north this past weekend chuging along at about 80 mph and I heard a noise from under the hood. :--) After checking the boost gage and the sound of escaping air I knew one of the intake tubes had blown off. I pulled over and verified it and decided to limp the truck back since I was still able to produce 8 pounds of boost and the it pulled the trailer fine. After getting back on the freeway I noticed the EGT's were at 1400 so I immediately got out of it and babied home. A week later changing the oil I noticed 3 fairly large cracks on the exhaust manifold (2 to 3 inches long). I can tell it's leaking exhaust now. My question is do I take it back to the local stealer to have it replaced under warranty or is it an aftermarket header type exhast manifold that I could upgrade to for more power? Also should be worried about any thing else that the high EGT may have hurt? Head gaskets seem to be fine, I've put about 200 miles on it since.

I understand there IS a supplier of aftermarket headers for our engines that offers a 3 section exhaust manifold that allows expansion/contraction - and avoids heat stress cracks... Dunno about any claims of increased performance tho...
