To start with I straight piped my truck and it sounds great up to around 2100 rpm. After that is has a high pitched whistling/fluttering sound. You can't hear it with the windows up but with them down it is very noticeable when pass someone, go by a building, or over an overpass. I added a walker full flow muffler to it today to see it it made any difference. It really quitened the truck up a lot:( but it did nothing for the whistling/fluttering sound. Do you think a resonator might change the pitch or something. People are following me around wondering why my truck is making such a shrill sound. I have removed the EZ and boost elbow just to see if there was any difference. The sound was still there and the power sucked so I pulled over on side of the highway and plugged the EZ back up immeadiately. Does anyone elses truck make this noise? Maybe just the way the 03 is.

MY 03 with 5" EX. with a muffler that has a baffle sounds the same,It's the Turbo.

you hearing bouncing off the side of things Ect. You should hear

it a little bit at idle also!:) GWD

Whooshing sound, very noticeable when going along a wall or something and getting into the throttle.

Not there with the new turbo, the exhaust pitch sounds down right mean now. No airy sound at all that I can hear.

thanks for the replies. Just wanted to make sure that was the way it was supposed to sound. I knew it was turbo noise I just wanted to make sure I haven't toasted something with my lead foot and EZ.

I hear a sort of howl thru the stock system at certain speed/load conditions. I bet straight piped it would really be obnoxious.

So a different turbo makes it go away, eh? Hmmmm... . :D
