Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Exhaust options?

I am researching exhaust for my wife's 'O1. The ends are rusting off the muffler, pipes look fine.

I Have been looking at the muffler eleminator kit from Geno's since the pipes seem to be fine and most post on this appear to think it is a good idea to leave the resonator when going with a straight pipe. I realize the stock exhaust is only around 3" and the stock down pipe is not the best.

My other option would be a 4" coated steel system with muffler from MBRP.

This truck will be left stock but for the exhaust and an fresh air type breather setup. Thanks. Jeff

In most cases if the muffler ends are failing there are other areas that are as well. Check it carefully prior to getting a muffler kit etc. We see this a lot and folks buy a muffler and a few months later they are buying a full system and the muffler fix money was basically wasted etc.
