I have been told that it is a good idea to have a muffler on a diesel. But i really like it without, What do you think. It is on a 1999 with a 4'' all the way from the turbo.

Any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks

Denis

No, it is harmless to run a diesel without a muffler. The diesel engine does not need backpressure like a gasoline engine. Having no muffler is actually healthier for your diesel because it lets the engine run cooler.

what muffler?

I have a 99 and the muffler and resinator somehow fell off so I had to take it to a exhaust shop and have them in stall a glass pack muffler basicly straight through pipe and i have had no problems and I have not even had a police officer look twice at me it sounds ssooooooooooooo nice with out it I wouldn't worry about it

DODGE RULES!

We dont need no stinkin' mufflers...

What Wirenut said. My muffler fell off and then I sprouted two 5" stacks. Awsome ain't it Wirenut :) . I think we might of cheesed some people off between Bloomington and my house with all that noise and smoke:D :D :D . Doug
