Toying around with the idea of re-joining the stack club. I quickly threw together a sketch of what I'd like to do. I'd run them directly in the center of the rear window.

Has anyone fabricated a setup like this?

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm not feeling that setup. I guess the reason stacks look good is because it mimics the "big rig" look and I have yet to see a Pete or Kenworth sport that type of setup. It is your truck, and you should do what makes you feel good, that's just my 2 cents. A lot of guys like Mitre cut stacks, I don't. If I were going to run stacks, I would go with 4" turn outs about 4" above the roofline. Since I use my truck for business, I think some of my customers might find them offensive so unfortunately I can't run them, main reason I got rid of my straight-pipe and had to put my stock exhaust back on.

I am an advocate of custom exhaust. I get tired of seeing the same old set-ups. I always try to tweak my exhaust a little different to make it look like something no one else has. Right now I am runnin a 7" bullhorn stack under my truck dumping right under the rear bumper straight out. People hear the truck... look under the bumper, and want to stick their head up the pipe. It makes me feel good. Tends to sound kinda pipey... but what would you expect.

Anyway, I am not too sure how this set up would work really. Your going to have a hell of a time getting 4" at the smallest pipe that close together through the bends you would need to make to get it up through the bed. So their might be a slight design flaw, but who knows, if your good enough, you might be able to make it work.

I saw a Ford the otherday with two stacks on one side, they were turnouts with one shorter than the other. I wouldn't put them on my truck but they looled pretty cool. I would think the two mitres would look good side by side with the angles point backwards. In other words just like normal but next to each other.

Yeah man, I wouldn't run those in the center of the rear window. At least not full height of cab. I think it might look kinda cool if they were halfway up the back of the cab... but not mitres... i would run bullhorns or turn outs half the height of the cab. Some angles might look better then others... play around with it.

someone on here has a similar setup with 2 mitres in the center of the truck but they angled like mitres normally are. I though it was different, and in my opinion pretty sharp looking.

EDIT: Here are some links to the pics.

Half the height of the cab? I would think you would have a smoke cloud that just hung at the back window looking for a place to get in. (as well as soot in the bed)

I guess the 2 pipes together in the center does nothing for me. You'd also loose the use of your mirror inside. (I don't use mine except for lining up to my boat trailer, but I'd miss it)

If you want different, how about 4 individual pipes turned upward between the cab and rear wheel on each side? Sort of funny car look.

I would never put stacks on my truck as the soot could be on it and I lose the bed space, which is why I got the 8' bed in the first place.

If you like it, then go for it. Just don't block the third break light as that might violate a law in your area. Also, as pointed out, you lose your rear center view.

I own my own business as well, lawn care/snow removal industary and I get a lot of compliments from my customers. I love mine, and I'll never go back.

Sometimes you gotta sacrafice a little bit :D

Daniel... ... ... . Tyrone Taylow (T-Bone on our KY site) had a set like that on his 'ol Grey 3rd Gen last year before he got ride of it, but they were on the right not centered.

I've seen one somewhere else before too, but also on the right! ;)

I like it, but make the tips just barely above the cab or you'll have a really annoying resonance.
