Hello, I have read a lot of posts about the advantages of enlarging the stock exhaust systems on the CTD. What are the facts? Does it really help in a significant way to do this with a stock engine? I'm inclined to think that, to some degree, noise equals power with some folks. Does it really improve performance in any measureable way? Is it a psycological thing where "if I spend all that money, surely it must run better" type of thing? If backpressure is reduced via a larger exhaust, will it cause the turbo to overspeed? Is the amount of backpressure built into the stock system there for an engineering reason? What part does the EPA have to do with the design of the stock exhaust system?
Thanks for your answers, Bob
