I would like to install a stainless steel exhaust tip on my truck. I was looking at the "Megs" that Geno's garage sells. Has anyone installed these on their trucks? They look nice but I can't imagine that it just slips on over 8+ inches of tailpipe, yet has enough interference fit to hold it on. I'm looking for opinions before I buy one and can't slide it on without a sledge hammer or to have it slide off while rolling down the road. Any opinions would be helpful.

Bought one about a month ago. Slips right on and no problems, looks good to. Very happy with it and would recomend it.

Yep mine slipped on with just slight persuasion. Took all of two minutes. An added benefit I found was I no longer get soot on the side of the trailer. It wasn't even "bombed" yet when sooting up the trailer and after bombing still clean trailer.

Instead of buying a chrome tail pipe cover just take a good metal polish and the gavanized pipe will shine up real nice. If you have a small buffing wheel to attach to the end of a drill or dremel type tool, use buffing compound and it will shine like chrome.

TomCat, the Megs 4" dia. exhaust tip can either be purchased in polished stainless steel or chrome plated steel. I believe Geno's Garage use to sell it either way although, as of late, I believe they only sell the s/s version. The Monster exhaust tip is an extremely well made, heavy-duty, chrome plated steel tip. I have purchased and installed both the s/s Megs and the Monster exhaust tips (not simultaneously) prior to the purchase of my present exhaust system. Both of these tips were a rather tight slip fit onto MY tailpipe however, I elected to have a tack weld applied to each tip as an added precaution.

How about an exhaust tip for a 4" exhaust system?

I purchased Geno's Meg, and it didn't fit onto my pipe. I beleive it is more suited for a 3" or 3. 5" exhaust. The inside pipe of the tip is 4", and even with heating it in the oven it wouldn't work.

Smoke got mine from Geno's also but it was a loose fit. Ended up putting a small sheet metal screw on the bottom side of it. Looks good and well made. #ad

at first I used a 4" stainless turndown I bought at an 18-wheeler shop. then I went back and got a pair of 4 foot 5" stacks for my 99 24V and mounted those behind the sleeper and light bar on my haulin' bed.

Why would anyone want to draw attention to a big exhaust? I specificaly had BD replace the Chrome turndown that came with the 4" cat back with a straight black pipe.

Guess that's why I go by "Sleeper"

Straight black pipe? I try to get as much shine as possible. I have a 5 inch turndown right now and I'm trying to find a 7 inch one. Bigger is better, shine is good.

I just mounted a Chrome Geno's Monster Tip on my 2001 3500. Excellent, solid construction and slipped on too easily. Slid it back off and applied some epoxy. Will also anchor it with a stainless steel screw.
Someone asked "Why would anyone want to call attention to their exhaust pipe?" Any women with a nice "tail" puts on a nice tight pair of jeans - AND YOU KNOW WE LOOK #ad
