swampbug74, First off, welcome aboard !!!! I have the BD 4" exhaust turbo to tail and am very happy with this set up. Mine is just right for me, in regards to the sound, inside and outside the cab. I think it boils down to personal preference rather than which is better. From what I've heard, the Jardine is the easiest to install and also sounds great.

Swampbug74,I have the jardine 4" and am very satisfied, install was easy and sound-performance is great, regardless of which brand you go I believe a 4" exhaust is a must,The thing that really sold me was looking at the old unit I saw nothing but restriction in it,the thing goes from one size to the next and I was not impressed at all. do the 4" you will be alot better off. #ad

Thanks for the information. i like the big rig sound so a system thats good outside but still sounds good on the inside. on the turbo back do you have to change the turbo housing to get it to fit?

How about the poor mans way out; just replace muffler and resonator with a piece of straight pipe, anyone try this? I'm thinking about putting in flex pipe to help with droning at highway speed.

Swampbug74,

No, you won't have to change the turbo outlet at all. Turbo back is the way to go.

I just straight piped my ETH friday. Nasty drone at 2000 rpm, probably fix it with another hanger though. Otherwise I love the sound. Wife didn't even complain, till I passed her on the highway #ad

what is the droning effect i keep reading about and do you get this with like bd,jre. also is stright pipe a good way to go. and the difference betwwen stock exit or above the rear tire does it matter. thanks

The drone/resonance you hear about is not engine noise but a vibration at a certain rpm that is quite noticable. This topic comes up regularly and different "tricks" seem to work for different people. More hangers, extra clamps, clamping angle iron/bar stock to the pipe etc. These are just the first to come to mind. Do a search on the subject. Should be alot of old threads.
