Good day people!
Hope I posted this in the right forum.

Have a question
I have a 2011 6.7 Cummins and unfortunately I can not do a delete here. I want to run a single stack in the bed threw a soft tonneau cover will the stack get to hot because of the regens?
I will have a gap between the stack and the tonneau cover. I had a single stack on my old 96 which I don't have anymore and I miss having a stack.
Thanks for the replies and go easy on me

Your "stack" will put off a lot of heat! You should do a double or triple wall type of stack, similar to how a wood stove pipe is. The least you need to do, is to have some sort of pipe "jack", like is done with canvas wall tents. Hope this info helps with your design.

I wouldn't even consider a stack with a DPF, the tailpipe gets over 900° during a regen. Additionally isn't the DPF outlet too far aft to route vertically at the front of the bed?

Thanks for the input AH64ID, I hear you thoughts on making exhaust and stack separate.
The dpf outlet on my truck ends just a bit past the cab. I attached a diagram what I was thinking what are your thoughts on it? I know it's a lot of work and kinda crazy but that's me

Not to mention the smell.

While I love the smell of aftertreated diesel exhaust, as well as normal non-emissions diesel exhaust, the retched smell of regeneration would leave me far, far away from wanting that near my back window of my cab. Like others stated too, the heat.

I was looking at the temps on my EcoDiesel DPF and it was pushing 1,500F on the DPF outlet temp.

Those types of temperatures do strange things to metal and paint. Not to mention the glass behind the cab.

Do you know if this will affect regenerations with no muffler for added back pressure?

Things are tuned to such a high degree with emissions.
