After doing many searchs, reading many posts, is there any good exhaust systems that just bolt on?... I,m not an idiot... I,ve built quite a few cars, and still am. . But after reading some posts... I,m kinda' concerned... I've met Rob G. , and know what his mechanical capabilites are... So now I,m starting to ? my own... I don't want to start a project, than have to drive it to the muffler shop to finish it. :confused

Any thoughts on this... ... . ?

Jardine is a 100% bolt on, spelled no welding , no fabricating, no trips to a muffler shop.
Fit and finish is exellent. A good diys in the driveway afternoon project.

CCahill, if you can make it to the next get together at Brandon's place in Modesto you can see how the Jardine system goes together.
We will be installing three systems that day.

Take a look at the thread on the tune, test, and tinker day at Brandon's place-

HVAC,
I'll be there, and looking forward to it. Do think we could make it four installs? If it's as easy as people say, won't be a problem for me..... BTW, where does this all stop. . ?JEEEEEZ, this is my work truck, next thing you know, I'll be takin' it off the street and towing it around with a ETH/DEE.

I installed the 4" kit from diesel dynamics this weekend. The kit is bolt up, and comes with both a short and a long pipe and you use the one that fits your type of truck (long bed/short bed). I chose not to install the muffler that came with it and used both pieces of pipe. I cut 4" off of the long pipe and mig welded the sort and long pieces together to get the flare at both ends. Truck sounds like a peterbuilt going down the road.

I've seen a few comments about having the exhaust connections welded instead of just clamped. I would assume the welded method is better, but how much better? Is it worth having a shop install the system just to have the joints welded?

Jardine seems to be a great kit. Can anyone comment on the sound of the Jardine compared to the JRE or DD. I really like the sound of the Walker mufflers. I am leaning toward either of those two systems for that reason, but the Jardine sounds (no pun intended) to be like a great exhaust also.

Thanks for the help, Ryan

hvac you are smokin' crack 4 exhausts in one day

sheessh, man we will need wiz 1 plasma cutter, seriously

B... ... ... ... ...

I want to hear the difference between the sound of Jardine's and DD's exhaust systems. Do they both use the same muffler? Sorry Jardine users, but I don't particularly dig the sound of the Jardine... it's not deep enough for me. Also the sound to me is terrible when the exhaust brake is on.
I like the deep tone of Stan's and BD's systems, and was wondering if the DD has the comparable tone.

MikeR,
Jardine uses a MagnaFlow muffler that is special made for Jardine. The DD exhaust uses a Walker muffler like the JRE system, but I think the two use different model Walkers.

You say the Jardine isn't as rich/deep of a sound when compared to others. Hmmmm, this is what I was wondering. You can hear the JRE and DD exhaust is you go to either of their websites and download the sound clips.

Well sounds like you will be busy Brandon Nowells stacking the deck against you #ad

i welded my Jardines kit in but i did it because i have the equipment for it. I too am not happy with the sound of my kit but it is getting better as i drive it more. I also believe that at one time Jardines had a choice of muffler you may want to ask them about that. overall the kit took 2 1/2 hours with the removal of the old in a way that it could be put back on (nondestructive) it is an excellent kit, perfect fit too.

The Jardine's sound a little raspy at idle, kind of a shallow raspy purr. They sound good at speed because I had someone drive by me at WOT with their Jardine. It had a Meg's 5" tip on it which probably helped. I agree with Mike the BD & Stan's Header's exhaust has a deeper, more open sound.

Muffler, what muffler. Straight pipes all the way out back. Sounds like a peterbuilt going down the road with just the 4" pipe.
