Guys, I am cringing!

It started out in the front of the truck, from the right. It would only happen on right hand turns initially. Now it is a continuous clunking and banging noise when the truck is moving. It sounds really expensive whatever it is! :{

I have checked the u-joints at the knuckles knowing that it would be hard to tell, but they look good and don't show the outward signs that would go with these noises. Front driveshaft is good. Calipers are attached and secure. The discs show no gouging or other apparent damage. Rims are securely attached. The spindles look fine.

I am scared I lost my front axle or my transfer case..... The hubs are unlocked and I thought that I had my issues here taken care of, but it looks like the front driveshaft is turning with the lever in 2wd :confused:

I guess that I am just venting more than anything. The truck is parked over a hundred miles away, and I am am heading up there Thurs. to start basic tear-down. It won't be too hard to figure out, I am sure.

I could just cry though as this is the 4th time in less than a year of ownership that my truck has either broke down/cost me bundles of cash. You gotta wonder about those new trucks, and the relative ability to "git n an go"... ... .

Mine clunks some when turning one way. It is the front leafs sagged out and the shackle is swung so far back it rubs the frame rail. Makes a nasty grinding noise.

Waiting for my new skyjackers to get here.

Yea, I checked for that too. I wish I would have found that sort of malady...

Mine is truely a rotational noise in that it will speed up or slow down dependent upon the vehicles motion, (and now, regardless of direction).

Since you were talking about the spindles looking fine, I assume the wheel bearings looked OK.

Pull the front driveshaft and drive it for a while. With the hubs unlocked though none of that should be rotating. Are you shure it is comming from the front and not somehthing like the rear driveshaft carrier bearing?

Don't forget to check the calipers and pads. Also, check to see if any rocks or slow pedestrians are stuck in the wheel.
