I'm about to buy a large replacement fuel tank for my '97 2500 Ext Cab 4x4. The only sources I've found are these two.

At first, I was looking at Transfer Flow tanks. They have a 54 gallon replacement tank and it's around $1250 installed. http://www.transferflow.com/

Then I found the Aero Tanks "D-60 EXT". This is 60 gallons and is about $750 installed. Their web site is: http://www.aerotanks.com/ You have to call for pricing.

Considering the larger size and much better price I'm probably going with the Aero Tanks unit.

Does anyone have experience with either of these tanks? How about any other manufacturers of large replacement tanks for Dodge?

I had a Transfer Flow tank on an older Dodge Van. I installed it my self & it was a pretty easy install. The only thing I didn't like about it was the filler neck was in the rear wheel well. You had to be carefull that you didn't any crap in the tank when you removed the cap to fill it, but I never had any problems. Hope that helps you.

I installed the Aero Tank about two months ago. Not exactly an easy job, wouldn't be near as bad if I had to do it again, but the first time is a charm. You don't have very much room, so your measurements have got to be pretty close. It would have probably been better to make the drive to California to have it installed by Aero Tanks. As for the tank, it's working O. K. Hurts like hell to see how much it cost to fill up now but I only have to do it about once a month. Good luck.

The only experience I have with Arrow Tanks is from my 1972 Jeep CJ5. Put a 24 Gal replacement tank in it back in 1995. No problems at all with the tank. :)
