I wanted to share my experience with upgrading the suspension on my '09 2500 diesel. I could tolerate the stock suspension on-road although it was certainly very harsh in most situations. But we have a truck camper and like to go camping off-road in national forests and BLM land in the southwest, sometimes 50 miles from the nearest paved road and maybe pushing things a bit. Fully loaded with the camper we're pushing the GVWR and with the stock suspension, control and response of the suspension was terrible, especially body sway front to back and side to side. It was like there were no shocks doing any dampening. After a big bump it could take 5 to 10 seconds for the rocking to stop.

I looked at Carli, Thuren and Lorenz and settled on the Lorenz 2. 25 system. It included 2. 25" Sway-A-Way shocks front and back, Lorenz shock towers, Plush Ride Dual Purpose rear leafs, Infinite Rate Heavy Duty front coils, limit straps (I hope to never test those!), and extended links for the front stabliizer bar. We're lifted about 3" front and 1" back.

We just got back from a 1800 mile trip in Colorado and Utah, with at least 100miles of off-road, including some trails at our limit (class 3-4) so I now have a sound basis for judging the Lorenz performance.

Overall I am extremely pleased and thank Sean Lorenz for packaging a great product. It wasn't cheap but we got excellent value for our money. On-road all conditions are noticeably smoother with none of the stock suspension harshness, including speed bumps and cracks and holes in the pavement at low to moderate speeds. At highway speeds handling feels more secure and rolling dips in the road that used to set a disturbing front to back swaying are now immediately dampened out. It gives me a lot more confidence.

Off-road loaded down with the camper, the difference is huge. The feeling of security and control is far greater. The biggest issue, as I said, had been body sway. Sway is completely gone! Body roll front to back and side to side is immediately controlled. We no longer have to stop and wait for the oscillations to dampen out and for us to regain our confidence on rough roads. As a bonus, all bumps, rocks, dips, etc. have been smoothed out in a significant way.

Bottom line, all driving is much more pleasurable due to the control and suppleness of the suspension.

Thanks you Sean!
